FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

October 19, 2018  ***MEDIA ADVISORY***

Marsy’s Law for Nevada is proud to announce the support of United States Representative Jacky Rosen (D-NV 03). As voters across Nevada prepare to cast their ballots with the start of Early Voting this Saturday, the Congresswoman joins the call for expanded rights for victims of crime. In her endorsement of Question 1, she unites with more than 200 leaders across Nevada including city and county officials, law enforcement agencies and organizations, legal experts, advocacy groups, and political leaders who believe it is time to provide guaranteed rights and protections to victims of crime.

“Question 1 will give victims the voice they deserve throughout the criminal justice process, which is essential in the healing process of so many victims and survivors,” said Congresswoman Rosen. “Nevada crime victims deserve a constitution that reflects victims as a priority and ensures strong enforceable rights.”

Congresswoman Rosen was elected to the United States House of Representatives in the 3rd Congressional District in the 2016 election and is currently a candidate for United States Senate. She has lived in Nevada for nearly 40 years.

“We thank Congresswoman Jacky Rosen for her support of expanded rights for victims of crime in Nevada,” said Marsy’s Law for Nevada State Director Will Batista. “The Congresswoman’s support for Question 1 signals the strength of this measure on behalf of all citizens of Nevada.”

We urge all Nevadans to remember to cast a vote for themselves this fall and Vote YES on 1, for victims’ rights.
