May 7th Updates & Blog
Marsy’s Law for Nevada is kicking off May with a flurry of presentations and some major new endorsements. We are proud to announce the Douglas County Commission is joining the effort to stand up for victims’ rights.
Members Nancy McDermid, David E. Nelson, Barry Penzel, Steven Thaler and Larry Walsh united to confirm their support for Marsy’s Law for Nevada, and we appreciate their dedication to all residents. They join Douglas County Sheriff Ron Pierini on behalf of victims across Nevada and the call for stronger protections in our constitution.
Our team has been busy as well with presentations and meetings this first week of May including the Hispanics in Politics monthly meeting in Las Vegas, the UNLV College Republican breakfast, and the Kiwanis Neon Lights event.
We also like to support our Nevada advocacy agencies who word each day helping victims of crime. Your local community has amazing organizations who need your support. Two events coming up are the SAFE House shelter’s Bubbles by the Beach event on May 12th which still has tickets available. Also, the Safe Nest shelter’s Spring Tea is May 19th. Please see their websites for details on tickets.
We invite you to stay connected via our Twitter posts, Facebook page and website, and alert us to events we can attend to share information about this effort. No one wants to be the victim of crime, but every victim deserves Marsy’s Law. Remember to cast a vote for yourself and Vote YES on 1 this Fall.
